PredictionProbe Released UNIPASS™
5.8
PredictionProbe has announced
on 1/08/2007 the release of UNIPASSTM
version 5.8, the newest version of its renowned probabilistic assessment
software. UNIPASS™
V5.8 is fully validated and tested software that can be operated by a
non-statistician using a desktop computer.
What are new in Version 5.82 (6/1/2007)?
Printed an warning message in output file if the arguments in UNIPASS math
functions
are incorrect that will produce unpredictable result.
Give an error message in GUI if the length of the input in execution
command line,
parametric file, input file, and output file in Generic Interface is greater
than
80.
Extended the length limitation of the input in execution command,
parametric file,
input file, and output file in Generic Interface from 52 to 80.
Fixed the problem of crashing caused by MS MSC version conflict if
external.in was
created (by clicking Save button) while no change in the Generic Interface
Window
was made.
Fixed the problem of crashing if the input of parametric file, input file,
and output
file in Generic Interface has more than one token (i.e., space in the path).
Fixed the problem of same result of Inverse Probability Analysis for g and
-g, i.e.,
effects of limit state definitions and cut set definitions.
Prevented UNIPASS GUI crashing when click to open an in existed UNIPASS
PAS file
from the Recent Files in File dropdown menu.
The first MPPL fails if the MPP identification of the linearized limit
state function
can not converge in 100 iteration. A new procedure was set up for this case so
that
the MPP Identification will be converged.
When linearized limit state function has large value and difficult to
reach zero,
the MPP identification of this linearized limit state function will not
convergent
after 100 iteration.
The process of MPP Identification should be only carried for the limit
state functions
used in the definition of minimum cut sets. There is a bug when the number of
limit
state functions (i.e., ngf) is greater than the number of limit state functions
used
in the minimum cut sets (i.e., ngfc).
Removed the bug caused crush when update the last random variable in the
Variable
Definition Window.
Changed the output message of Error to Warning when the MPP of a
linearized limit
state function was not converged in 100 iterations.
Removed a following output error message of "The value of limit state
function appears
to be unacceptable of the random variable x =" when the MPP of a linearized
limit
state function was not converged in 100 iterations.
Removed the bug to print out the correct mean and standard deviation of
User Data
distribution in the section of Statistical Data of Problem Definition in UNIPASS
output LOG file.
Removed the bug of sensitivity calculation for the variables with
hyper-parametric
distribution that are in the second or higher groups.
What are new in Version 5.81 (3/10/2007)?
Removed a bug for the problems using system command interface that does
not need
to open external file of VARS.INS.
Updated the distribution parameters in the gradient calculation of limit
state function
for the problem with hyper parametric variables.
Removed all the restrictions on the variable's name such as it should be
more than
one character, should not be "E", "P", "I", "H", and the same name as UNIPASS
built-in
math functions,
Added a built-in math function MINVID(argi, argj) that returns the element
No. of
the minimum among the vector defined by starting at argi and ending at argj.
Added a built-in math function MAXVID(argi, argj) that returns the element
No. of
the maximum among the vector defined by starting at argi and ending at argj.
Added a built-in math function for logical statement IFN(argk, argi, argj).
It return
argi if argk <0 and argj if argk >0.
Added a built-in math function SEL(argi, argj) that returns the current
value of
the argj-th element in the vector defined by starting at argi.
Added a built-in math function for logical statement IF(argk, argi, argj).
It return
argi if argk >0 and argj if argk <0.

Function Definition
Window.
Removed the bug for Discrete Uniform distribution.

Checked function containing a unnecessary character of "=" before it was
added into
function list box in the Function Definition Window.
Updated the parameters of hyper parametric distribution before calculating
the derivative
of g with respect to random variables that contain the CDFIN, CDF, MEAN, STD
built-in
math functions.
Added capability to normalize the input PDF or CDF points of User Data (or
non-parametric)
distribution in order to obtain the precise mean and standard deviation.
Fixed the extra print out of running status other than the specified print
steps
for the system probability calculation in Monte Carlo simulation.
Fixed the display static message in the statistical data pane of CDF/PDF
Plots in
Variable Definition Window.
