PredictionProbe Released UNIPASS™ 5.96

PredictionProbe has announced on 10/05/2010 the release of UNIPASSTM version 5.96, the newest version of its renowned probabilistic assessment software. UNIPASS™ V5.96 is fully validated and tested software that can be operated by a non-statistician using a desktop computer.

What are new in Version 5.96 (10/5/2010)

  • Revised the Box Behnken matrixes for 8,13, 14,and 15 factors in Response Surface Method.

  • Added three input methods for Triagular distribution: (1) mean. standard deviation, Xl , (2) mean, standard deviation, Xu, (3) mean, standard deviation, H.

  • Added two built-in math functions: EQUIVAL( ) and RUNSPISE( ) for Unipass-Spise interface.

  • Added various text colors in the Table of Contents and key information in the output files.

  • Added the choice of approximations for computing the standard deviation of limit-state function in Robust Design.  

  • Added the capability of  DLL approach in Fortran or C for system command interface.

  • Detecting if the right parenthesis, ), followed by a character other than operators: +, -, *, /, ^, and ), Unipass will insert a multiplication operator, *, between the right parenthesis and the detected character to avoid syntax error.

  • Allow space in the character string of path to command line, parametric file name, input file name, and output file name of Generic Interface.

  • Allow space in the character string of path to command line, parametric file name, input file name, and output file name of Customized Interface.

  • Allow space in the character string of path to command line of external solver in System Command Interface.

  • Equation  in the Function Definition Window is allowed extra spaces can be broken into as many lines as it needs, provided no line exceeds 80 characters.

  • Because the compiler cannot recognize the characters [, ], {,  and }, Unipass will replace [ and { with left parenthesis, “(“,  and replace  ] and } with right parenthesis, “)”, to avoid syntax error.

What are new in Version 5.95 (1/5/2010)

  • Instruction for the installation of UNIPASS in Windows 7.

  • Added examples to run Unipass with Abaqus : (1) Apply ABAQUS/Standard analysis and output to a ASCII data file; (2) Apply ABAQUS/Standard analysis and output to a binary file. All these examples were stored in the default directory of C:|Program Files\Unipass\Examples\V~V\ABAQUS Example.

  • Added two new input methods for Normal Distribution: for Input Method 6: mean and variance, for Input Method7: mean and precision.

  • Removed a bug in Equation Definition Window that originally only compared the first 4 characters of equation name with UNIPASS macro command name.

What are new in Version 5.92 (11/10/2008)?

  •  Added the sensitivity plot for the sensitivity of component probability and associated
    reliability index with respect to correlation coefficients for Class 2 and Class
    4 random variables are available in Probability Analysis and Inverse Probability
    Analysis.

  •  Added the option of algorithms to calculate the gradient of limit state function
    for HL-RF family MPP methods and Gradient Projection MPP methods.

  •  Added the Delete All button in Correlation Coefficient Window to remove all the entries
    of correlation coefficients so that all the random variable in this group became
    statistically independent.

  •  Added Help button in Correlation Coefficient Window.

  •  Removed the restriction of the location of the directory in C: drive for "Documents
    and Settings\\All Users" for storing the network key information. UNIPASS now can
    automatically detect the right path for this directory.

  •  Removed all the restrictions for Problem Description Edit Box such that it cannot
    have starting word in each line as macro command type, cuts, /solv.

  •  Added the capability of user defined distributions with user provided functions stored
    in a Fortran DLL, userfunf.dll, that defines the PDF/CDF and the associated mean/standard
    deviation, distribution parameters. User can define any distribution even that the
    distribution parameter is a random function of previous defined random variables
    by this capability.

  •  Created a Fortran static library, preplib.lib, that contains all the UNIPASS built-in
    statistical distributions so tat users can directly call them for CDF/PDF in the
    user defined distributions in userfunf.dll.

  •  Allowed users to enter the Max. Number of g-function Calculation in Simulation Analysis
    with the scientific notation, e.g., 1e6 for 1000000.

  •  Allowed user to enter the Number of Sample Points in Simulation Analysis with the
    scientific notation, e.g., 1e6 for 1000000.
