Custom Interface OverviewUNIPASS™ is distributed with an intuitive GUI interface for interfacing external software. UNIPASS™ Gustomized Interface may be simultaneously integrated with an unlimited number of deterministic in-house and/or commercial software tools which may use multi input files. The integrated package can incorporate probabilistic mechanics into the capabilities provided by the external software. To minimize user input, this GUI interface generates the batch command file "CUST.IN" used by UNIPASS™ solver for calling external software. This enables the user to work directly and only with the native input/output file format of an external software. The overall operating procedure is the almost same as stand alone operation of UNIPASS™ except four steps explained in the following sections.
For Customized Interface, UNIPASS™ Customized Interface handles the majority of work required to establish communication between various software packages. Users are required to do a minor programming work to extract the desired response value form the output of external software. This user’s provided program is then compiled as a dynamic link library (DLL) file and placed in the UNIPASS™ Program directory.
In the customized interface, the user can use random variable names and random function names as design parameters in the input file of deterministic software tools. UNIPASS™also has a tracking capability for determining the effect of random variables on the results of the external software. This tracking capability enables UNIPASS™ to minimize the number of external software calls.
